Cornwall dog owners face a £100 fine, council warns

Heading out with the dog this weekend? There is one thing Cornwall Council would rather you did not leave behind on the sand, the pavement or the grass. The authority has put out a fresh reminder to owners across the county, and ignoring it can cost real money.

The message from the council is short and blunt. Clean up after your dog, every time, and help keep Cornwall’s streets, parks and public spaces clean and safe for everyone.

What it can cost

Skipping that job carries a penalty. Dog fouling can result in a £100 fixed penalty notice, the council has confirmed.

The advice comes down to two steps that most owners already take. Carry a bag when you set off, and drop it in a bin once your dog has done its business. Do that, and there is nothing to think about.

Leave it where it lands, and in Cornwall that choice now comes with a £100 price tag.
