Picture it. A dark December evening, mulled wine in hand, and more than 50 stalls of local gifts to browse with the Cornish weather kept firmly outside. That is the new addition to this year’s Christmas Market at Cornwall Gold.

The market returns for a third year this December, after the 2025 event drew 5,700 visitors. It runs for four days from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 December inside the historic surroundings of Tolgus Mill, with independent shopping, festive entertainment and activities for all ages.

Four days of shopping under one roof

More than 50 local stalls will fill Cornwall Gold with gifts, handmade crafts and food and drink. The whole event is held indoors, so a festive day out does not depend on what the sky is doing.

A first late-night shopping evening

New for this year, the market will host a late-night shopping evening on Friday 4 December. The market and the Cornish Pantry will stay open until 7.30pm, giving visitors the chance to browse the stalls after hours, pick up some festive food and sip mulled wine as the place takes on a different feel for the evening.

Santa, choirs and a letterbox

Away from the stalls, local choirs will perform and Santa will be paying a visit. Children can pick up a free letter-to-Santa sheet, and there is a letterbox on site to post it in.

Spin the wheel or pick a diamond

There is a new Spin the Wheel chance-to-win activity this year. Visitors can also book in for a mini photoshoot with their family or pets, try Pick-A-Diamond and Pick-A-Pearl, or get hands-on with panning for gold and pottery painting.

Free entry, free parking and dogs welcome

The event is free to attend, dog-friendly and has free parking, making it an easy Christmas shopping trip for families, friends and anyone keen to support local businesses.

Mike Taylor from Cornwall Gold said: “It’s fantastic to be bringing the Christmas Market back for a third year and to see it continue to grow. We’re looking forward to welcoming even more local traders and visitors, and the new late-night shopping evening gives people another way to enjoy the market.”

Mike added: “With so many independent stalls, live music and activities to try, there’ll be plenty to explore.”

Updates on the market are being posted on the Cornwall Gold Christmas Market Facebook event, with more details on the Cornwall Gold website. The site sits just off the A30.
