A haunted tractor ride awaits at Healey’s Cyder Farm near Truro
Somewhere in the orchards at Penhallow, a vintage tractor is getting ready for its spookiest week of the year.
Healey’s Cyder Farm, near Truro, is running Halloween at Healey’s every day from this Saturday (24 October) until Halloween itself on Saturday 31 October, so it lands right across the Halloween half term week. And this year comes with a bit of extra meaning, as the family business marks its 40th anniversary.

A haunted ride through the orchards
Visitors of all ages hop aboard a haunted vintage tractor for a spooky journey through the orchards. The ride ends at the farm’s pumpkin patch, where everyone gets to pick their perfect pumpkin.
Then it’s back on the tractor and off to the Rattler Bar.
Carving at the Rattler Bar, without the clean-up
Everything is set up at the bar for a Halloween pumpkin carving session. Spooky faces, creative masterpieces, whatever takes your fancy. Children and grown-ups can get stuck in together, and the Healey’s team takes care of all the mess afterwards.
There’s a treat for the adults too. Grown-ups can choose to swap their pumpkin for a pint of Rattler or Rattler Zero instead.
Forty years of a family business
From its farming roots to becoming one of Cornwall’s best-known cyder producers and visitor attractions, Healey’s has welcomed generations of families through its gates. Now, in its milestone year, it’s inviting another generation to discover the farm in autumn.
Joe Healey, Managing Director at Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, said: “There’s something really special about seeing families enjoying the farm together, especially at this time of year. Halloween is always great fun here, from the excitement of choosing the perfect pumpkin to seeing what everyone creates during the carving sessions.
“As a family business celebrating our 40th birthday, making memories together is something that’s particularly close to our hearts. We love seeing children, parents and grandparents getting involved, enjoying the countryside and having a bit of Halloween fun along the way. And of course, we take care of the pumpkin carving mess, so parents can enjoy the experience just as much as the children!”
Beyond the Halloween activities, visitors can take in a working Cornish farm during one of its busiest and most colourful seasons, with the chance to explore more of Healey’s farming heritage and the story behind its cyder.
