Sea Sunday Parade honours Falmouth’s seafarers today

A brass band, a parade through the heart of town and a service at one of Falmouth’s oldest churches. This morning the town comes together for one of its most enduring traditions.

Falmouth Town Council has confirmed the annual Sea Sunday Parade and Service takes place today, Sunday 19th July 2026. It’s a day set aside to honour everyone who works at sea and to remember those who have given their lives to it, and members of the public are warmly welcome to line the route and join the service.

The order of the day

The parade sets off from The Moor at 10:40 a.m., led by Pendennis Brass Band. The service follows at 11:00 a.m. at Falmouth Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr, conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplain, the Reverend Geoff Davis. At 12:00 p.m. the parade makes its return via the saluting base on The Moor, where salutes are taken.

The day is organised by the Falmouth Royal Naval Association with the support of Falmouth Town Council, continuing a tradition the town keeps year after year.

Planning your morning

To let the parade pass safely, temporary road closures will be in place on Market Strand, Market Street and Church Street. If you’re coming into town to watch, it’s worth arriving a little early to find a good spot along the route.
