The Greenbank and The Falmouth Return for Falmouth’s Sea Shanty Festival 2026
Two of Falmouth’s most recognisable waterfront hotels are gearing up for a weekend where the singing rarely stops and the harbour fills with the sound of rousing choruses.
The Cornwall Hotel Collection has confirmed that both The Greenbank and The Falmouth will once again take centre stage at the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival 2026, running from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June. Both hotels will serve as main stage venues, with The Greenbank also returning as a main sponsor of the event.
Billed as one of Europe’s largest free nautical music festivals, the weekend brings sea shanties, harbourside celebrations and performances from groups travelling to the town from across the UK and beyond.
The Oggymen lead the line-up
A major draw for both venues will be performances from local favourites The Oggymen, who are expected to pull in crowds across the festival weekend. You can catch them at The Greenbank’s marquee on the quay on the Friday at 7pm, then again at The Falmouth on the Saturday at 1pm, with plenty of rousing choruses promised both times.
Matt Garland, General Manager at The Falmouth and The Greenbank, said: “We are honoured to be a main stage venue for the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival 2026. As a hotel with a long-standing connection to the town’s maritime history, we are delighted to offer both our guests and festival-goers an exceptional experience, combining music, heritage and hospitality in a truly breath-taking setting.”
Ben Young, Managing Director of the Cornwall Hotel Collection, added: “The Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival is a true celebration of our town’s identity, bringing together locals and visitors alike in a shared love of music, history and community. Being part of this event is a privilege, and as historic hotels at the heart of Falmouth, we are thrilled to contribute to the festivities and immerse ourselves in this incredible tradition.”
What to expect at each venue
With thousands expected to descend on Falmouth again this June, both hotels are preparing for a packed weekend of music, food, drink and maritime merriment.
At The Greenbank, the festival atmosphere will centre on the hotel’s famous marquee on the quay and The Working Boat pub, where drinks will be flowing alongside a range of food offerings throughout the weekend. Set against panoramic harbour views, the venue remains one of the festival’s most popular destinations.
Across the bay, The Falmouth will host performances on its seafront lawns throughout the weekend, with an array of foodie vendors serving festival favourites. Anyone after something more indulgent can also tuck into crab and seafood platters in the hotel’s restaurant while overlooking the sea.
