Women’s Social Squash Tournament Held at Falmouth Sports Club
Seventeen women from across Cornwall came together at Falmouth Sports Club on Saturday for a Women’s Social Squash Tournament held to coincide with International Women’s Day.
The event brought together players of all experience levels and created a friendly and supportive atmosphere on court. Organisers said it was a great showcase for women’s squash in the county, with plenty of rallies, encouragement and new friendships formed throughout the day.

A Social Event With Strong Support
The tournament was supported by several organisations that helped make the day possible.
Karakal Worldwide supplied prizes and giveaways for the event, while Ridgeline Studio created the marketing materials on a pro-bono basis.
Thanks were also given to the England Squash Community Fund for helping to get the project off the ground.

Players taking part shared positive feedback after the event.
One participant from Truro said:
“Another big thank you for organising yesterday – the feedback from the Truro ladies is amazing. We all had a great time, made some new squash friends and are all really looking forward to the next one. Thank you so much!”
First Event in a New Series
The tournament marks the first in a series of five women’s social squash events planned this year at Falmouth Sports Club and Truro Squash & Leisure Club.
Organisers hope the series will encourage more women to feel confident about getting involved in competitions. Only four women entered this year’s County Championships, and the events are designed to help break down barriers to participation.

Falmouth, Truro and Penzance clubs all run dedicated women’s squash sessions and welcome players of all abilities.
