Pengelly Farms Ltd Named Official Farming Partner of Cornish Pirates

The Cornish Pirates have announced Pengelly Farms Ltd as their new Official Farming Partner, strengthening ties between Cornish rugby and one of West Cornwall’s established family-run farms.

Headed by Phil Rogers and Simon Rogers, Pengelly Farms Ltd grows high quality salad potatoes for customers across the UK and Europe. The farm also produces energy crops for its on-site biogas plant, generating renewable electricity for the national grid.

A Relationship Rekindled

Pengelly Farms Ltd join the Pirates as an Official Partner, building on what the club describes as a long standing interest in the team. The farm has previously sponsored members of the Pirates playing squad and will also support John Stevens in his return from injury, as well as his testimonial in June.

Ross Hancock, Head of Commercial and Communications at the Cornish Pirates, said:

Phil has always been a passionate supporter of Cornish rugby and the Pirates, so we’ve long since wanted to formalise a relationship with a synonymous part of Cornwall in farming and to showcase the quality potatoes Pengelly Farms produce. There has also been a tangible level of support from Phil in supporting John Stevens return to action, which John, I and the club have really appreciated.”

Backing Cornish Rugby

Phil Rogers, Director at Pengelly Farms Ltd, said:

The new partnership brings together a West Cornwall farming business and one of the county’s leading rugby clubs, underlining the close links between agriculture and sport in Cornwall.
