St Austell Brewery Launches 175th Anniversary Cask Ale Range

St Austell Brewery is marking its 175th anniversary with the launch of a limited edition cask ale range in 2026, bringing several well known beers back from the brewery’s archives.

The special collection draws on recipes recorded in brewing books dating back to the 1800s. According to the brewery, the range celebrates some of the most popular beers from its long history while also introducing a new anniversary ale called 1851.

The eight-strong line-up includes revived favourites alongside beers inspired by both past and current recipes from the brewery’s core range.

Classic favourites return

Among the returning beers is Admiral’s Ale (5% ABV), which was first brewed in 2005 to mark the bicentenary of Admiral Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar.

Another returning beer is Trelawny (3.8% ABV), a best bitter named after Bishop Trelawny from Cornish folklore. The burnished copper ale is remembered fondly by many beer drinkers.

The final release in the range will be Tribute Extra (5.3% ABV). Described as the bigger sibling of St Austell Brewery’s best-selling Tribute pale ale, it is brewed with Cornish barley and Celeia and Willamette hops. The brewery says the pale ale is bold, complex and full of character.

Celebrating 175 years of brewing

The cask ale range forms part of a wider programme marking 175 years of St Austell Brewery. Celebrations during the year will include commemorative events, collaborations and a focus on the brewery’s heritage pubs and regional roots.

“Revisiting classics, such as Trelawny and Tinners is a reminder of just how deeply our heritage runs, while giving us the chance to brew the beers with the quality and consistency made possible by modern techniques. As a team, we’re incredibly proud to honour our past while continuing to innovate for the beer drinkers of today.”

When the first beer arrives

The commemorative cask range will be available in St Austell Brewery pubs and can also be ordered by wholesale customers.

The first beer in the collection, Cornish Ale Trelawny, will be available from 30th March.
