Tarquin’s New Mojito Gin Uses Mint From a Padstow Garden

Ask anyone who knows Tarquin and they will tell you the mojito is less a favourite drink and more a personality trait.

So a Mojito Gin was probably always coming. It has now arrived as the distillery’s third summer release of 2026, infused with zesty lime and Cornish mint grown four miles from Distillery HQ at Padstow Kitchen Garden.

A friendship four miles down the road

When the chance came to build a gin around Tarquin’s favourite serve, there was only one place the team wanted for the mint. Padstow Kitchen Garden sits four miles from the copper pot stills, and the distillery describes the tie-up as one built on years of friendship rather than paperwork.

The thinking behind it is simple. The best things are grown, made and enjoyed close to home.

Meet the grower

Ross Geach founded Padstow Kitchen Garden. He is a 7th-generation farmer who was formerly head chef at Rick Stein’s, and he now supplies some of Cornwall’s finest food businesses with seasonal fruit and vegetables. The mint in the Mojito Gin is his.

That combination of culinary training and farming background is part of what drew the distillery to work with him. Knowing exactly where an ingredient comes from, and exactly who grew it, is what the whole project is built on.

The mint and the make

The mint is fresh, Cornish, and grown just miles from where the gin is distilled. Bright and clean, it gives the gin its mojito backbone.

Everything else is kept small. Small batch, limited release, and each bottle hand-dipped in wax at Distillery HQ. No two are quite the same.

The launch

Tarquin’s held the launch night at Padstow Kitchen Garden, where the mint is grown. By the distillery’s own account it was good friends, plenty of serves, and more mojitos than anyone was counting. Less a product launch, more a thank you.

How to drink it

The suggested serve is a Cornish Mojito Spritz: fresh lime, Cornish mint and a long pour over ice.

It is a limited run, so once it is gone, it is gone. Tarquin’s Mojito Gin is available in Tarquin’s Gin Shops and on the Tarquin’s website.
