The best holiday, so the thinking goes, is the one you can reach without a passport. Southwestern Distillery has taken that idea and poured it into a bottle the colour of a sunset, and it is calling it the final release of the summer.

A piña colada, bottled on the Cornish coast

Tarquin’s has turned the poolside classic into a small-batch gin. The new Piña Colada Inspired Gin is made in small batches on the Wild Cornish Coast, infused with creamy coconut and fresh pineapple juice for a sweet, sun-ripened taste the distillery describes as beachside bliss. It is the sort of thing that belongs on a lounger in the tropics, except this one was bottled a lot closer to home.

The distillery sees it as a way of chasing that holiday feeling without the airport. “We reckon the best holidays are the ones you don’t need a passport for, which is exactly why Distillery HQ bottled this one,” the team said, signing off with a Cornish YEGHES DA, good health.

What’s in the bottle

The gin sits at 38% ABV in a 70cl bottle and costs £39.95. It is a limited edition and, the distillery says, its final summer release of 2026. For serving, the recommendation keeps things simple and tropical: top it with soda water and pineapple juice for a beachside spritz.

It joins a long run of Cornish food and drink launches that lean on the county’s coastline for their character, and this one wears it on the label, all pineapple yellow and dripping wax.

The fans have already flown

There was a giveaway attached to the launch, a free limited edition bamboo fan for a run of early orders, offered as a thank you for the summer. Those have now sold out. The gin itself is still going, for as long as a final summer release lasts.
