Trewithen Dairy Is Now Cornish Dairy Co. But What’s Changed?

One of Cornwall’s best-known dairy brands has a new name. Trewithen Dairy is rebranding as Cornish Dairy Co, with new packaging beginning to appear in stores from 22nd April 2026.

The change has been announced by Ehrmann Cornish Dairy, the company behind the brand, as part of a wider push to strengthen its Cornish identity and drive national growth.

A Name Built Around Cornwall

The new identity is focused on championing and celebrating the brand’s Cornish provenance, whilst continuing to position the company as a leader in the premium dairy sector.

The rebrand follows a period of strong momentum for the business, which reported sales growth of 11% in 2025 and significant increases in retail volume. The company believes a sharper focus on its Cornish roots will resonate more strongly with shoppers across the UK.

Consumer testing appears to back that up. More than 60% of consumers chose the updated branding over Trewithen Dairy in prior testing.

The Same Farmers, the Same Dairy

Despite the name change, the company has been keen to stress that what matters most stays the same. Long-standing relationships with Cornish dairy farmers will continue unchanged, alongside the quality standards that retailers and consumers associate with the brand.

Packaging, marketing, and communications under the Cornish Dairy Co. name will roll out across the full product range throughout April and May 2026, supported by launch activity across marketing and social channels.

Rooted in Cornwall Since 1976

The company’s story began in the heart of Cornwall in 1976, when founders Bill and Rachel Clarke started farming in the Glynn Valley. In 1994, the Clarke family began bottling milk and delivering it at dawn, a business that grew into Trewithen Dairy.

In 2024, Trewithen Dairy was acquired by German dairy processor Ehrmann as part of a major push into the UK, with Ehrmann committing to invest £20m to expand dairy processing capacity at the Glynn Valley site. The parent company was subsequently renamed Ehrmann Cornish Dairy.
