Seven colleagues at Cavanna Homes have completed a nationally recognised leadership and management qualification built specifically for the construction and built environment sector.

The Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management Practice for the Construction and Built Environment Sector was funded through the CITB levy. It is designed to help managers develop practical leadership skills tailored to the challenges of the industry.

What the managers studied

The programme covered a lot of ground. Participants looked at managing a diverse workforce, stakeholder relationships, improving productivity, and minimising costs and waste. They also worked through how to handle conflict or difficult situations effectively.

It was not all process and paperwork. The course encouraged managers to reflect on their own leadership styles and develop coaching techniques to support and motivate their teams. It was delivered with a focus on real-world construction sector challenges, helping participants strengthen both operational and people management skills.

The qualification forms part of Cavanna Homes’ continued investment in training, development and creating opportunities for colleagues to progress within the business.

What the company said

Paul Moran, Managing Director at Cavanna Homes, said: “Supporting our people to grow and develop is incredibly important to us, and it’s been fantastic to see seven colleagues successfully complete this qualification.

“The construction industry is constantly evolving, and strong leadership plays a huge role in creating productive, collaborative and successful teams. The course has given our managers valuable skills they can apply across the business, while also encouraging them to reflect on their own leadership approach and how they support those around them.”

Cavanna Homes says it continues to invest in professional development opportunities across the business as part of its commitment to building strong teams and supporting long-term career progression within the company.
