Cornwall speed camera checks: where they are, 12 to 18 October

If you’re driving anywhere in Cornwall this week, there’s a good chance a speed detection officer will be working somewhere along your route. On six of the next seven days, at least one part of the county is on the list.

The Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team has shared where its speed detection officers will mainly be working from Monday 12 October to Sunday 18 October.

The Cornwall days at a glance

• Monday 12 October: West Cornwall and Mid Cornwall
• Tuesday 13 October: Mid Cornwall, West Cornwall and East Cornwall
• Wednesday 14 October: no Cornwall areas listed
• Thursday 15 October: East Cornwall
• Friday 16 October: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall and East Cornwall
• Saturday 17 October: Mid Cornwall and West Cornwall
• Sunday 18 October: West Cornwall, Mid Cornwall and East Cornwall

So Tuesday, Friday and Sunday cover all three areas of the county. West and Mid Cornwall feature on five days each, and East Cornwall on four. Wednesday is the only day with no Cornwall area named at all.

Across the border in Devon and Plymouth

The same officers are spread across Devon and Plymouth during the week. Plymouth appears on four days, from Monday to Thursday. North Devon and South Devon are listed Monday to Thursday too, West Devon from Tuesday to Thursday, Mid Devon on Wednesday and Friday, East Devon on Wednesday and Friday, and Exeter on Thursday.

A guide, not a full list

The list shows where officers will be primarily working, rather than every location they might turn up. No specific roads or times have been given, so the safest assumption is that a check could happen anywhere. You can keep an eye on the latest police news from Cornwall for future weekly updates.

The Road Safety Team’s message to drivers was simple: “Please drive safely and within the speed limit wherever you are.”
