Cornwall weather: Friday 21 August, showers before a 22°C weekend
If you have outdoor plans this morning, keep a coat within reach. Cornwall starts the day damp and breezy, and the first hours are the wettest they will be all week. Stick with it though, because the picture turns steadily brighter as the weekend arrives, and by Sunday it looks like proper late-summer sunshine.

Today
Truro and the wider county wake to light showers, with a 70% chance of rain around 6am. The high reaches 18°C, though it will feel closer to 16°C once the breeze is factored in. Wind stays light at 5mph but gusts touch 24mph, enough to give the showers a bit of edge along the coast. It is a day for layers rather than sunglasses.
Tonight
The showers ease off after dark and the sky turns partly cloudy. Temperatures dip to around 9°C, fresh for the time of year and a reminder that the mornings are starting to feel autumnal.
Saturday
Saturday lifts the mood with sunny intervals and a high of 20°C, feeling like 19°C. There is still a 40% chance of a shower around 1pm, so the umbrella need not go far, but the wind eases back to gusts of 18mph and the whole day feels calmer than Friday.

Sunday
Sunday is the pick of the bunch. Full sunshine, a high of 22°C and barely a drop of rain, with the chance sitting under 5%. Gusts of 19mph keep it comfortable rather than blustery. If you are planning a beach day or a long walk, this is the one to book in.
The week ahead
The warm run holds into next week. Monday and Tuesday both reach 22°C, though Monday arrives with a real kick in the wind, gusting to 36mph, so anything loose on the washing line is at risk. Tuesday settles back to sunny intervals and a milder feel at 20°C. Nights turn gentler too, with lows climbing to 17 and 18°C, the kind of sticky warmth that makes sleeping harder.
Then the change. Wednesday tips back to light showers and 21°C, with gusts of 31mph, before Thursday returns to sunshine at 20°C. It is worth keeping an eye on the Cornwall weather as midweek approaches, because the showers creeping back in are the loose thread in an otherwise settled spell.
