Cornwall weather: Friday 28 August, 25°C before thundery rain
There is warmth to make the most of before the weather turns. The Met Office forecast for South West England, which covers Cornwall, has today reaching a rather warm 25°C, but the weather is unsettled from here, with heavy and thundery rain moving in overnight and showers running through the weekend. Here is how the next few days look.

Today (Friday 28 August)
Heavy showers continue to push eastward through the morning, with isolated showers following in behind. It stays a rather warm day, with temperatures above average for the time of year and a high of 25°C.
Tonight
A bright end to the afternoon gives way to sunny spells and then clear spells overnight. From midnight it turns increasingly cloudy from the west, with outbreaks of heavy and thundery rain arriving. The minimum drops to around 14°C.
Saturday
A cloudy and wet start, with rain clearing to the east through the morning. It turns brighter from the west later, with sunny spells and showers following. The high reaches 23°C.

Outlook: Sunday to Tuesday
Unsettled throughout, with showers that turn locally heavy and thundery. It stays warm to begin with, then turns fresher as the winds shift to a westerly and strengthen from Monday.
