Today
Monday is damp and grey. The Met Office forecast for South West England, which covers Cornwall, has drizzly spells through the day and foggy interludes mainly along the exposed coasts and hills. There should be some brighter breaks, reaching the west during the morning and spreading further east through the afternoon. It stays very mild, with a maximum of 20°C, a good few degrees above what mid-October usually serves up.
Tonight
The night brings a mix of clearer interludes and more drizzly spells. The bigger change arrives towards the end of it, as heavy rain and strong winds push into the west and central areas by dawn. It stays mild overnight, with a minimum of 15°C.
Tuesday
Tuesday starts wet and windy as that heavy rain sweeps eastwards across the region. Sunny spells follow on behind it, but do not be fooled by the brightness. The afternoon will feel cooler than Monday thanks to a fresh, gusty breeze in the rain’s wake, with the maximum dropping to 17°C.

Outlook: Wednesday to Friday
The middle of the week dries out. Wednesday brings dry, sunny spells with the wind strengthening to a fresh breeze. Those gusty winds hang around into Thursday, when a band of rain arrives later in the day. Friday looks the pick of the three, sunnier and more settled, the kind of day that makes the damp, blustery start feel a long way off.
