Cornwall weather: Monday 19 October, a wet and windy turn midweek
If the start of the week feels grey and damp, you are reading it right. The Met Office has Cornwall and the wider South West turning more unsettled as the week gets going, with a mild but cloudy Monday, a brighter Tuesday to enjoy while it lasts, and then a wet and windy spell arriving midweek. Here is how the week’s weather looks across the region.

Today, Monday 19 October
A cloudy and damp start for most, as patchy cloud and rain spread northwestward across the region. It does not stay dreary all day though, with variable cloud and sunny spells developing through the afternoon. The odd shower is still possible across Cornwall. The high reaches 14°C.
Tonight
Dry to begin with and some clear spells around, although cloud and rain are expected to push into eastern areas through the early hours. Low cloud and hill fog are likely over higher ground, so take care on the moors and higher roads. The overnight low drops to 6°C.
Tuesday 20 October
The day to get the outdoor jobs done. It is dry and bright to start, with any lingering cloud to the east soon clearing away. Lengthy sunny spells follow through much of the day, before cloud and rain spill into the west later on. The high climbs to 15°C.

Wednesday to Friday
This is where it changes. Wednesday turns wet and windy across the region. Things clear before turning showery with sunny spells into Thursday, when the winds fall lighter for a time. That calmer spell does not hold, as heavy rain then spreads northeastwards into Friday with strong winds likely to follow it in.
