Cornwall weather: Sunday 4 October, 21°C once the fog lifts
The fog that met you at the window this morning is not sticking around. Across Cornwall and the wider South West, those grey patches lift through the day to leave bright, warm sunshine and a top of 21°C, about as kind as early October gets. Here is the full Cornwall weather picture, today through to Thursday.

Today
Early mist and fog patches clear through the morning to leave a bright, dry day. Cloud bubbles up through the afternoon to give sunny spells, and it feels warm wherever the sun breaks through, with only light winds to notice. Maximum temperature 21°C.
Tonight
A clear and calm night lets mist and fog patches form widely once more. It turns chilly as temperatures fall back to near average for the time of year, down to a minimum of 7°C. Worth a thought if you are out early, because the morning may start grey and cold before it brightens.
Monday
Fog may be slow to clear through the morning, so Monday (5 October) could open much like today. It stays dry, though some cloud spills in from the north during the afternoon, with the southern coasts holding onto most of the sunshine. Another warm one, with a high of 21°C.

Tuesday to Thursday
The settled spell breaks midweek. Cloud and patchy rain arrive on Tuesday (6 October) and run into Wednesday (7 October). The rain then clears to leave sunny spells and a fresher feel from Wednesday onwards, though it turns breezy with the odd light shower still possible.
So two warm days to open the week, fog and all, before the cloud and rain roll through the middle of it and the air turns fresher behind them.
