Cornwall weather: Thursday 5 November, cloudy now, frost by Monday
Lighting a sparkler or heading to a display tonight? You will want a warm layer more than a raincoat. The Met Office has a chilly, cloudy Bonfire Night across the South West, with patchy rain for some, before the skies clear into a bright but frosty weekend. Here is how the weather looks across Cornwall over the next few days.

Today
Thursday stays largely cloudy, with just the odd break to brighter skies for some and a chance of showers in the far southwest. It feels cool, especially along the breezy south coast, with temperatures a touch below the seasonal average and a high of 12°C. A day for a coat rather than an umbrella, for most.
Tonight
It stays cloudy into the evening, and patches of light rain push up from the south as the night goes on, so anyone out for Bonfire Night could catch a shower or two. The winds ease a little, but it turns chilly, down to a minimum of 6°C. One for the woolly hats.
Friday
Friday (6 November) carries on cloudy, with patches of rain and showers mainly in the morning and again focused around the southwest. It is less windy than it has been over recent days, though it still feels chilly, with a high of 11°C.

The weekend and into Monday
The outlook is where it brightens up. Saturday (7 November) starts with variable cloud and a few fog patches, along with the odd isolated shower, but from there the forecast improves. Through Sunday (8 November) and into Monday (9 November) it becomes increasingly clear and dry, with some pleasant sunshine on the way. The trade-off is colder nights, which will bring frost and fog, so those clearer days are likely to follow chilly, misty starts.
