Cornwall weather: Thursday 8 October, showers chase the sunshine

The Met Office’s forecast for South West England, which takes in the whole of Cornwall, calls for a bright and chilly start to Thursday before cloud and rain move in from the west later on. Here is how the week’s weather shapes up.

Today

A chilly but bright start, with pleasant sunshine and light winds through the first half of the day. Cloud builds in from the west during the afternoon, thickening ahead of rain that arrives into the evening. The high reaches 16°C, and it feels pleasant while the sunshine lasts.

Tonight

Cloudy with outbreaks of mostly light rain, continuing into the early hours of Friday. It stays much milder than last night, with the temperature holding up at a minimum of 8°C.

Friday 9 October

Rain and blustery winds to start, before things clear into the evening as the winds ease. A few brighter spells are on offer through the rest of the day, with a high of 16°C.

The weekend and into Monday

Scattered showers keep going through Saturday 10 October, then ease into Sunday 11 October as the winds drop and sunny spells break through in between. Cloud builds again through Sunday, with rain to follow in the evening and on into Monday 12 October.
