Hayle Runners take two team bronzes on a tough Rosemullion 10K
Mud, fallen leaves and around 325 metres of climbing stood between 27 Hayle runners and the finish line at Rosemullion. Several of them still came back faster than last year.
Hayle Runners finished third in both the men’s and ladies’ team competitions at the Rosemullion 10K on Sunday 25 October, picking up eight age-category prizes along the way.
Organised by Falmouth Running Club, the race was the sixth fixture of the 2026/27 Cornwall Multi Terrain Race Series. It follows the coast path and trails around Rosemullion Head, overlooking the entrance to the Helford River.

A pretty course with a sting in it
The views didn’t make the running any easier. Muddy trails, fallen leaves, technical descents and steep hills tested runners all the way round the 10 kilometres.
Liam O’Neill led the club home, finishing seventh overall in 45:43.
A podium on his first run in the vest
Liam was joined in the men’s scoring quartet by Macourey Brooklyn (48:31), Mark Williams (50:01) and Andrew James (50:11). Together they took third place in the team competition.
It was Macourey’s first appearance in a Hayle vest. He finished 14th overall and helped put the club straight onto the team podium.
The ladies match the men
Hayle’s ladies did the same. Melodie Manners (56:13), Florence Davies-Kirsop (56:35), Julie Towers (1:05:15) and Sarah Thomas (1:11:02) combined to claim third place.
For Sarah it was a first appearance in a Hayle ladies’ scoring team.

Faster than last year
There was encouragement further down the field too, with several runners improving on their previous times at Rosemullion.
Olivia Henwood made the biggest jump, taking more than six minutes off her 2025 time. Andrew and Florence both improved by around three minutes, and Frazer Humbles knocked almost two minutes off his previous best.
Todd Reynolds also bettered his 2025 run, while Susan Thomas added another course PB to her recent run of them.
What the club said
Hayle Runners thanked Falmouth Running Club and everyone involved in organising and marshalling the event, along with the supporters who cheered runners around the course and at the finish.
Club chairman Richard Collett said: “It’s encouraging to see both teams on the podium, particularly with Macourey making his club debut and Sarah earning her first place in a ladies’ scoring team.
“Rosemullion is a proper multi-terrain challenge, so the number of runners improving their times is impressive. Olivia taking more than six minutes off hers deserves a special mention, as do the eight age-category prize winners.
“With six races now completed in the series, it’s good to see so many members continuing to take on these tougher courses.”
