Three trees down on Alexandra Road
Penzance Town Council says three trees have come down on Alexandra Road in Penzance as very strong winds from Storm Austen hit on Friday 23 October.
Two fell at the top of the road. The third, a large one, came down at the bottom.
Photos taken by the council show one tree torn up by its roots from a front garden, its trunk lying across the pavement and its crown spread over cars parked along the street.
Is Alexandra Road open?
Cornwall Highways are aware of the fallen trees, according to the council.
The road is passable with care. But the council’s wording was “for now”, so if you’re heading that way, go slowly and expect things to change.
Clear-up in Penlee Park
Elsewhere in the town, a member of the Penzance Council gardening team was out in Penlee Park on Friday, dragging fallen branches off the grass.
