Newquay Pride cancelled due to severe weather
Saturday’s Newquay Pride will not be going ahead. Cornwall Pride confirmed on Friday that severe weather has forced the event off, with the safety of everyone due to take part put ahead of the celebration itself.

Why the event has been called off
The charity said the decision had not been made lightly. In a statement, Cornwall Pride said its first concern was the safety and wellbeing of the community, volunteers, performers, traders and everyone who had planned to be part of Saturday’s event in Newquay.
No further detail on the weather itself was given in the announcement, and organisers asked people to stay safe and look out for one another over the coming days.
A new date to come
Cornwall Pride has committed to bringing Newquay Pride back later this year rather than losing it altogether. The charity said it would be working on a new date and would share updates as soon as one is confirmed.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Please stay safe and take care of one another,” the organisers said.
