Police appeal after report of racial abuse at Hayle Asda

What happened
It was reported that on Tuesday 18 August, around early evening, a woman shopping at Asda in Hayle was subjected to racial abuse at the self-service checkout area, in the presence of other customers. The matter was reported to police earlier this month.
Officers are now investigating and treating it as a hate crime.
Who police want to trace
Investigators are trying to trace witnesses to the incident, and in particular are keen to hear from the customer who was using the tills next to the victim at the time.
