The Spinney damage leaves a Camborne bench unsafe
Tucked off a footpath in Camborne, The Spinney is the sort of spot people duck into without really planning to, a patch of woodland with handmade wooden benches carved from old logs. Now one of those benches has been left too damaged to sit on, and the group that looks after the space want to know who is responsible.

A bench too damaged to use
The Spinney Committee has shared an update through Camborne Town Council, confirming that some of the wooden benches in the space have been damaged. One bench has been left unsafe as a result, and the committee says repairing it will not be cheap.
No details have been given yet on exactly when the damage happened or how, but the committee is appealing for anyone who saw anything, or who has information that could help identify those responsible, to report it to the police.
Helping protect a shared space
The message describes The Spinney as a wonderful space for the community to enjoy, and calls on everyone who uses it to help look after it. That includes reporting any further damage or anti-social behaviour, so the wear on a well loved corner of Camborne does not fall on a handful of volunteers alone.
For now, one bench sits out of use while a repair bill is worked out, a quiet reminder of what a few minutes of damage can cost a space that took a lot longer to build.
