Two arrested as drugs seized in Tresillian, near Truro

Officers converged on a quiet village outside Truro this week, and walked away with what they believe are quantities of Class A and Class B drugs, and two people in handcuffs.

The Misuse of Drugs Act warrants were carried out on Thursday 27 August, with Truro’s neighbourhood police team leading the action to support the community. Two properties in Tresillian were visited, and a third was searched after further enquiries were made at the scene.

Man and woman held, released on bail

A man and a woman were arrested on Thursday. Both have since been released on bail pending further enquiries, and neither has been charged.

“Drugs can cause so much harm”

Neighbourhood Team Leader, Sergeant Dave Pearce, said the operation had removed suspected illegal substances from local streets.

“Drugs can cause so much harm in our communities, so it’s positive that we’ve been able to remove suspected illegal substances from the streets,” Dave said.

“We would like to thank the local community for supporting our local officers, and we would encourage anyone with concerns around drug supply in their area to report it to the Force website or via Crimestoppers.

“No matter how small you may think your information is, it might just be the bit of evidence we need to secure a warrant and make arrests.”

Truro’s team was assisted on the operation by the Plymouth and West Cornwall Neighbourhood Support Teams, the Professional Development unit and the force’s dog section.
