WAX Burner near Newquay adds a route for first-timers

Twenty-five obstacles between a start line and a finish line sounds like a lot to take on for the first time. WAX Burner has just made that first attempt a shorter one.

A shorter way in

WAX Burner, the obstacle course race held at Trewan Hall near Newquay, is opening up this year’s event to even more people with a brand-new 2.5km Fun Run route for participants aged 10 and over.

It has been introduced for those who want to take on the challenge without committing to the longer courses, making it a good option for first-timers, families and anyone looking to try something new.

Twenty-five obstacles, one shorter course

Taking place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026, the new route gives participants the chance to experience WAX Burner over a shorter distance while still tackling 25 obstacles along the way.

Three distances to choose from

The new 2.5km Fun Run joins WAX Burner’s existing 5km and 10km routes, giving participants a choice of distances depending on how big a challenge they want to take on.
