Launceston Charity Marks 25 Years with Free Spring Open Day This Saturday

Free eBike Rides and Freebies: Launceston Charity Opens Its Doors This Weekend

A Cornwall charity that has helped thousands of people get to work, training and essential services is throwing open the doors of its new workshop this Saturday to mark 25 years in operation.

Wheels 2 Work South West is hosting a free Spring Open Day on Saturday 25th April from 11am to 3pm at its base at Unit 3 Merchants Quay, Pennygillam Industrial Estate, Launceston.

What’s On

The event promises a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with free tea and coffee, light refreshments, a raffle and goodie bags for visitors (while stocks last). There will also be the chance to try out an eBike, and potentially pick up a bargain.

Motorcyclists are specifically encouraged to come along, with free vehicle health checks on offer from the charity’s experienced workshop team.

25 Years of Making a Difference

Since it was established 25 years ago, Wheels 2 Work South West (registered charity no. 1194170) has worked to remove transport barriers for people across Devon and Cornwall, helping them access employment, education and training through affordable transport solutions.

Max Jowett, Chief Executive of Wheels 2 Work South West, said: “Reaching 25 years is a huge achievement for us. This event is not only a celebration of how far we’ve come, but also a chance to open our doors to the community, showcase our new workshop, and highlight the difference accessible transport can make to people’s lives.”

The open day is also a chance for visitors to see the charity’s new Launceston workshop space and meet the team behind the operation.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone. The charity is encouraging people to bring along friends, family or anyone who might benefit from or be interested in its work.
