Launceston College Icon Bids Farewell After 45 Remarkable Years
A Lifetime of Dedication
Launceston College has said a heartfelt goodbye to Carol Unwin, a long-serving member of staff whose contributions to the school community have spanned an impressive 45 years. Carol joined the college in 1980 as a teacher and later transitioned into various roles, most recently as a valued part of the Outdoor Learning Team.
Her tenure has been marked by an unwavering passion for outdoor education, highlighted by her leadership in the annual Jubilee Challenge. Through this, Carol inspired students to embrace adventure and develop a deep appreciation for the natural world. Over the years, her impact has reached countless students, leaving a lasting legacy of encouragement and support.
Witnessing Change and Growth
Throughout her career, Carol worked alongside 11 different principals, providing a consistent and reliable presence during periods of change. Her wealth of experience and steadfast dedication earned her the admiration of colleagues and students alike.

Retirement Beckons
After a career spanning over four decades, Carol has decided to retire, looking forward to a quieter life and time spent in her garden. The entire Launceston College community extends their best wishes to Carol, expressing gratitude for her exceptional service.
