Dean Street in Liskeard set to close for South West Water works
Drivers who cut through the middle of Liskeard may need a different route on the weekend of 14 November. And the disruption doesn’t quite end when the weekend does.
South West Water is closing Dean Street to through traffic from Saturday 14 November so it can carry out works for one of its customers. The road will be shut for up to three days in total, with a signed diversion in place.

When Dean Street will be closed
The road will close on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November for day works. It will then reopen on Monday morning (16 November).
But it will close one final time that Monday evening, after 7pm, so the work can be finished.
The closure point is marked in red on the plan sent to people living nearby. It sits on the B3254 beside Westbourne Gardens, close to where Dean Street meets New Road and Dean Hill.
What it means if you’re driving
No through traffic will be allowed. You’ll still be able to drive up to the hard closure point from either direction, but not past it.
A diversion has been agreed and approved by County Highways, and signs will go up to point traffic around it. There’s a catch, though. Because another diversion is already running in the area, South West Water says its works will refer to the route marked with black circles, so that’s the one to follow.
The plan shows the diversion taking traffic out to the A38 on the southern side of the town.
Walking and emergency access
Pedestrian and emergency access will be kept open at all times.
South West Water has also warned there will be some unavoidable noise close to the works from the equipment being used, and says it will keep this to a minimum.

Questions about the closure
Anyone with additional requirements, or who wants more information, can call the South West Water Helpline on 0344 346 2020, quoting reference 12622372.
The company says every effort will be made to keep disruption down and get the job finished as quickly as possible.
