Liskeard Watch Manager Pete Jefford Retires After 27 Years
Twenty-seven years is a long time to spend running towards the things most people run away from.
That is the length of service Watch Manager Pete Jefford clocked up before hanging up his kit, and his colleagues at Liskeard Community Fire Station gathered for a fond farewell to mark the occasion.
Pete started his career in Hampshire before moving west to join Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service. He spent time as part of Purple Watch at Liskeard, and it was that crew who turned out to see him off.

A send-off from Purple Watch
The team were keen to put their feelings on record. In their message marking his retirement, Purple Watch said: “From all of us on Purple Watch, thank you for your leadership, support, friendship and the many laughs along the way. It has been a privilege to serve alongside you.”
They added their congratulations on a well-earned retirement and wished Pete all the very best for the future, saying he would be greatly missed by everyone at Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.
