Speeding Concerns on B3254: One Driver Caught at 68mph in Foggy Conditions
Fog, Sheep, and Speeding: A Dangerous Mix
Liskeard Police’s Community Speedwatch Team carried out speed monitoring on Wednesday morning (21st February) between 8:30 and 9:30am on the B3254 near Foredown, Pensilva, where the speed limit is 40mph. With foggy conditions and sheep grazing by the roadside and on the moor, the results raised concerns about driver behaviour.
Breaking Down the Numbers
- 117 vehicles were recorded travelling at 40mph or below, within the speed limit.
- 15 vehicles were driving between 46mph and 49mph.
- Nine vehicles were recorded at 50mph.
- One vehicle was caught travelling at 68mph—a particularly dangerous speed considering the conditions.
A Timely Warning for Drivers
With lambing season approaching and half-term traffic on the roads, police are reminding drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions to help prevent collisions.
