Uncle Albert’s Fishing Comp Set to Reel in Funds for RNLI Looe

Sea anglers and boat owners in Looe are being invited to take part in a fun day on the water this summer, with all money raised going to support the lifeboat station.

A fishing competition organised by keen sea angler Allan is set to take place on Saturday 6th June 2026, raising funds for RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station.

Allan, a former boathouse guide at the station and a long-time supporter of the RNLI, is behind the event, which will see participants heading out onto the water for a friendly competition followed by a barbecue.

A Day on the Water

The event, called Uncle Albert’s Fishing Competition, will run from 8am until 4pm and is open to Looe boat owners who fancy taking part in the day.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish and the most unusual catch, adding a bit of extra fun to the competition.

BBQ After the Competition

After the fishing wraps up, participants can head ashore for a barbecue, giving everyone a chance to relax and share stories from the day.

All funds generated from the event will be donated to RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station.
