New Locations Across Cornwall
Rock Choir, billed as the world’s largest contemporary choir, is launching in Bodmin, Bude, Launceston and Liskeard. The expansion brings the choir to four fresh corners of Cornwall, with members invited to sing feel-good pop, rock and chart hits arranged exclusively for the group by Grammy award-winning producers.
Founded in 2005 by award-winning musician Caroline Redman Lusher MBE, Rock Choir has built a reputation as an accessible, inclusive alternative to traditional classical or community choirs. There are no auditions, and members do not need to read music.
Cornish Musician Takes the Helm
The new locations will be led by Cornish musician Sydney Falle, who becomes the second Rock Choir Leader in the Cornwall region. Sydney will run rehearsals in all four towns, with the choir’s stated focus on building confidence, reducing stress and connecting members in a positive environment.
Sydney said: “Rock Choir is really magical. It can bring people together in a way that lifts confidence, creates lasting friendships and builds a real sense of belonging. It’s a joy for me to be leading brand-new choirs in Cornwall and helping make a positive impact in each local community we rehearse in. Everyone is welcome!”
Boardmasters and Beyond
Members joining the new Cornish choirs will get the chance to take part in performances alongside the wider Rock Choir membership. It was recently announced that the choir will open Boardmasters Festival on the main stage this August.
Rock Choir members have previously performed at Wembley Stadium and Carnegie Hall in New York, and have travelled to Berlin, Greece and Spain. The group also regularly performs at local community events, fundraisers and on national television.
