A national event returns to Newquay

The Championships are back at Newquay Town Council’s Concrete Waves Skatepark after what Skateboard GB describe as a hugely successful 2025 competition. It is now a well-established fixture in the town, and the biggest event Skateboard GB stage each year.

Concrete Waves is one of the largest and best-known skateparks in the country. It is also the home park of British Olympian Lola Tambling.

Skateboard GB expect the three days to draw hundreds of visitors, which they say is a real boost for local businesses and tourism across the area.

£10,000 on the line

Fifty competitors will go head to head for a share of £10,000 in cash prizes, with the chance to be crowned against the most skilled skateboarders from across the UK.

The line-up features members of the Skateboard GB National Team, including Lola Tambling, Lilly Strachan, Tay Cunningham and George O’Neill. There are separate male and female events, with equal prize money on offer for each.

What a Park final actually looks like

The Park competition takes place in a skatepark bowl. Athletes ride up the walls and perform tricks out the top of the pool and on the coping that surrounds it.

Expect flips, spins, grinds and big air transitions from all fifty of the riders taking part.
