Christmas Tree Drop-Off Smashes Previous Record in Newquay!

Newquay residents more than doubled their effort in this year’s Christmas tree collection, with 802 trees dropped off at South Fistral Car Park – nearly twice as many as last year’s total of 416.

From Tree to Mulch

The Environment Service team worked for three days to chip the collected trees, with the resulting mulch set to be used in Newquay’s public flowerbeds.

Newquay Town Council praised the community for taking part in the free drop-off, saying, “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this eco-friendly [collection]. Your efforts are helping keep Newquay green and beautiful! Well done, Newquay!”

Missing Decorations?

The council has also urged residents to check the last photo in their Facebook post to see if any decorations belong to them. Any found items will be kept safe until Friday, 21st February.
