Cliff Road Closure in Newquay: Key Repairs Scheduled for December
Long-Term Drain Repairs Confirmed
Newquay’s Cliff Road will be closed for planned works from Monday 9th December to Wednesday 11th December, following an emergency repair carried out earlier this year during the busy Boardmasters weekend. The road, which was temporarily patched in August, will now undergo a larger, long-term repair to address the collapsed drain that caused disruption during the summer.
Timing Planned for Quiet Period
The timing of the closure has been selected to coincide with a quieter period in the town. According to a Facebook post from Newquay BID, efforts were made to ensure the repairs avoided peak tourist times, minimising disruption to residents and businesses.
The closure will be limited to a small section of Cliff Road, with all surrounding routes remaining open. Local businesses in the area will continue to operate as usual, and the public is encouraged to support them during this period.
South West Water Leading the Repairs
The works, being undertaken by South West Water, aim to provide a long-term solution to the drain issue. While the closure may cause some inconvenience, it is seen as a necessary step to ensure the road is safe and fully operational in the future.
