New in Newquay: somewhere to leave your board and bags

Published On: 12 July 2026Last Updated: 12 July 2026By

You’ve checked out of your accommodation at 10am, your train isn’t until six, and you’re standing on Cliff Road with a suitcase in one hand and a surfboard under your arm. A new Newquay business thinks that day should look different.

What Bags Away does

Bags Away has opened at K2 Gym, 27–29 Cliff Road, offering secure, staffed storage so visitors can spend the day in town without hauling their kit around. It takes luggage and suitcases, surfboards and wetsuits, bikes and e-bikes, and bulkier family items like prams, buggies and travel cots.

There are no lockers. Items are tagged and logged on arrival, stored behind the reception desk, and handed back when you show your tag. Everything is CCTV-monitored and fully insured, and there’s a loading bay for larger items.

The details

Storage starts from £5 per day. The unit is a couple of minutes from the train and bus stations, and it’s open seven days a week, though the hours shift: 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm on Saturday, and 8am to 4pm on Sunday. Bags Away says the times are a guide and asks anyone catching a late train to ring ahead.

A concierge option is also available, with collection and drop-off for nearby stays, so bags can be moved without a trip to Cliff Road at all.

Bookings can be made through the Bags Away booking page, or by calling or messaging 07971 812567 on WhatsApp.
