Newquay Coastguard and RNLI Lifeboats Respond to Emergency at East Pentire Point
In a late-night operation on Monday, 5th February 2024, the Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team was called into action to assist the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with a casualty situation at East Pentire Point, Newquay. The call for assistance was made at 23:07 hours, triggering a coordinated response effort that also saw the involvement of Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and the St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team.
Upon locating the casualty, the teams provided immediate care, ensuring the individual’s condition was stabilised before the arrival of the ambulance service. The swift and efficient handover highlights the critical role these organisations play in coastal safety and emergency response.
The Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team used this incident to remind the public of the importance of vigilance along the coast. They advise anyone who witnesses someone in difficulty to dial 999 immediately and ask for the coastguard, emphasising the crucial role of prompt reporting in ensuring safety and enabling timely rescues.
