Newquay Easter Egg-stravaganza Rescheduled to 5th April 2026

Newquay Town Council has announced that its popular Easter Egg-stravaganza has been rescheduled, with the event now set to take place on Sunday 5th April 2026 instead of Saturday 4th April.

The change comes due to adverse weather forecasts, with organisers confirming that all planned activities will still go ahead as intended, just a day later than originally planned.

Same Event, New Date

The event will still be held on the Killacourt from 10am to 4pm, with free entry and no charges for activities.

Families attending can expect a full programme of entertainment, including an Easter Egg Hunt where every child will receive a chocolate egg or an alternative. There will also be Easter-themed storytelling sessions with Hotch Potch Performance, face painting, mini fairground rides, an Easter Trail with a prize at the end, and a children’s disco at the Bandstand.

Market Also Moves

The BIG Newquay Market, hosted by Cornwall Shop Small in collaboration with Newquay BID, will also move to Sunday 5th April. It will run alongside the main event on the Killacourt from 10am, offering a range of stalls featuring local food and artisan makers.

Town Trails Unchanged

Two free Easter town trails, the Easter Trail and the Golden Rocks Hunt, are not affected by the date change. These will run as planned from Tuesday 7th April until Saturday 18th April.

Trail sheets can be collected from Newquay Library and Information Service, although it is noted that the library is closed on Sundays.

Mayor of Newquay, Councillor Drew Creek, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause, but the safety and comfort of our families and visitors is always our priority. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Killacourt on Sunday 5th April. It is going to be a fantastic day and well worth the wait!”
