Newquay Firefighters Have a Parking Plea for the Town

A warning to drivers
Newquay Community Fire Station has asked people to think carefully about where they leave their vehicles, warning that careless parking around the town can put lives at risk.
In a message shared alongside Visit Newquay, the crew acknowledged that the roads around Newquay are tight at the best of times, and that space gets harder to find as more people arrive in the town. Even so, they asked drivers to leave enough room for a fire appliance to get past.
The station said inconsiderate parking affects how quickly they can respond to a call, and that in the wrong moment it could cost lives.
On this occasion, they said, they were fortunate not to be answering an emergency.
