Five Saturdays, five free events, all in the heart of Newquay.

The Newquay Sessions are back for Summer 2026, with a run of five free events on the Killacourt across July and August. Newquay Town Council has confirmed the programme, which covers music, entertainment and family activities, and every event is free to attend with no tickets required.

The council says the series is aimed at all ages and forms part of its wider corporate plan. Steve Facer, Director of Resources at Newquay Town Council, said: “These events have been curated so they offer something for everyone, bringing the community together in a stunning location where people can enjoy a range of free activities and performances.”

Steve added: “Events are an integral part of our cultural fabric and form an important strand in our corporate plan, supporting local performers and businesses, driving footfall and increasing dwell time in the town centre. These events punctuate the year and add colour and vibrancy to our community calendar.”

The First Wave opens the run on 4th July

The programme starts with The First Wave on Saturday 4th July, running from 10am to 6pm. It features live sets from Chris Hogg, a K-Pop tribute act and The Qwest, with Radio Newquay keeping things going through the day. The opening session lands on the same day as the BIG Newquay Market and the Newquay Carnival, so there will be plenty happening across the town.

Country Hoedown on 18th July

Next up is the Country Hoedown on Saturday 18th July, from 12pm to 8pm. The day leans into country and western, with performances from The Cornish Cowboy, Bow River and Deeks Cowboys. There will also be line dancing and family entertainment throughout the day.

School’s Out Disco on 25th July

The annual School’s Out Disco follows on Saturday 25th July, from 1pm to 3pm. It is aimed at younger audiences and offers a way to mark the start of the summer holidays.

Sunset Session on 15th August

A new addition to the line-up this year is the Sunset Session on Saturday 15th August, running from 3pm to 9pm. It will include DJ sets and live performances from DJ Jamie Elliott, DJ Proof and Sean Lloyd, and DVotion.

People’s Playlist closes the series on 22nd August

The final event is People’s Playlist on Saturday 22nd August, from 12pm to 8pm, with a line-up chosen by the community. It features Amy Todd, Joe Hurworth, COLOUR – The Band, C Bone and Still Dizzy, with Radio Newquay supporting across the day.
