Damage Causes Disruption
In a statement, Newquay Town Council said:
“We’re disappointed to report that further damage occurred to the public toilet facilities and the skatepark over the weekend.”
The council highlighted that these spaces are intended for public use and enjoyment, but damage has a wider impact beyond the immediate repairs.
Resources Diverted from Other Improvements
The statement continued:
“These facilities are here for everyone to use and enjoy, and damage means we have to divert time and resources away from other improvements that benefit the community.”
This means efforts that could be focused on enhancing local areas are instead being redirected to fix avoidable issues.
Call for Community Support
Newquay Town Council is urging people to help protect shared spaces and report any concerns.
They added:
“We ask everyone to help look after these important shared spaces and report any concerns so we can keep them safe, clean, and open for all. Thank you for your support.”
The council hopes that with support from the community, facilities can remain accessible and in good condition for everyone.
