Newquay’s World Cup Fanzone Returns to Mount Wise
Big screen, floodlights, and the town turning out together. Newquay’s World Cup Fanzone is heading back to Mount Wise Stadium for the rest of England’s matches.
The weather forced the last one indoors, but organisers say that only proved the Fanzone can run whatever the forecast does. The Sports Hall backup kept everyone dry, the big screen stayed on, and the atmosphere held up.

Watching at a proper football club
There’s something different about watching England at the home of Newquay AFC. A big screen at Mount Wise. Food and drink. Families, mates and neighbours together under the lights.
It works as more than a place to catch the game. Every pint sold helps support the local grassroots team, so a night at the Fanzone puts something back into football in the town.
“A football ground, under the lights, with the people you live alongside. You can’t really replicate that anywhere else in town.”
Al Lenton, Vice Chairman of Newquay AFC
First time or not, the gates are open
Whether you’ve been coming to Mount Wise for years or you’ve never walked through the gates, the next group games are open to everyone.
And if the weather turns again, the indoor backup is already sorted at Newquay Sports Centre. Either way, the Fanzone is on.
