The Atlantic Hotel Opens The Lookout Residence in Newquay

A clifftop spot above Newquay has just opened its doors to paying guests, and its very first overnight visitors arrived with a camera roll’s worth of Instagram content.

The Atlantic Hotel has officially unveiled The Lookout, a redesigned coastal residence sitting high above Cornwall’s north coast. Bookings opened on 1st June 2026, and the property is the first completed project since The Atlantic joined The Cornwall Hotel Collection.

A Cliffside Residence Sleeping Eight

Spread across two floors, The Lookout sleeps up to eight guests and is being pitched at families and groups after something more private than a standard hotel stay. From its elevated position the residence looks out across uninterrupted views of the Atlantic, with the town centre, beaches and surf spots all within walking distance.

The interiors were put together with a local designer, leaning into soft textures, natural materials and ocean tones to create what the hotel describes as a warm coastal retreat. Guests still get access to the wider facilities of The Atlantic Hotel while having their own space to retreat to.

A Famous First Guest

Actress Helen Flanagan and her family were welcomed in ahead of the official opening, becoming the first to stay at the residence.

Posting about the trip on Instagram, Helen said: “We’ve had the loveliest stay in Cornwall at the brand-new luxury residence, The Lookout at The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. It’s such a stunning family space and the perfect little escape together. The Lookout opens soon and honestly… it’s so special.”

What’s Next for The Atlantic

The Lookout is being positioned as the opening move in a wider plan for the hotel under its new ownership.
