Treloggan fete brings market stalls and live music to Newquay

A patch of grass on Doorstep Green is about to fill with market stalls, food vans and the sound of live acoustic guitar. Newquay Town Council is bringing its Newquay Sessions: Community Sessions programme to Treloggan on Saturday 26 September, with a free fete running from 10am to 2pm.

The Treloggan September Fete forms part of Newquay Sessions: Community Sessions, an initiative aimed at creating opportunities for people to come together and enjoy activities close to home. Visitors can expect local market stalls, food and drink traders, and the chance to find out more about organisations and services working in the community.

There’s plenty for younger visitors too. Imagine Outdoors will be running its Imagination Station, free to take part, alongside free children’s crafts and face painting (chargeable). Live acoustic music from Joe Hurworth will run through the day, and there’s also the chance to meet local councillors.

Bringing the town together, one community at a time

Mayor of Newquay, Drew Creek, said the event is about reaching residents in every part of the town.

“We’re really pleased to be bringing a community event to another area of our town through the Community Sessions programme. It’s important that we create opportunities to reach people right across Newquay and bring activities into the communities where people live.”

Drew added that the day is as much about supporting local traders as it is about family fun.

“The Treloggan September Fete is about bringing people together, supporting local traders and organisations, and giving families the chance to enjoy a fun and welcoming event close to home. We hope residents from Treloggan and across Newquay will come along, get involved and enjoy everything the day has to offer.”

The fete is free to attend and everyone is welcome, with the council pointing people to Newquay Town Council Events on social media for the latest updates.
