What’s Happening in Newquay This Weekend? Full Details of Saturday’s BIG Market Revealed
One-day event promises creativity, live music and local talent by the sea
Newquay is set to come alive this Saturday, 5th April, with the return of the BIG Newquay Market – a celebration of local makers, music and community taking place across the Killacourt and Bank Street from 10am to 4pm.
Held on the first Saturday of every month, the event is a collaboration between Love Newquay, Cornwall Shop Small and Newquay Farmers Market, with support from Newquay BID, Newquay Town Council and Visit Newquay.
Makers, Bakers and Creators by the Coast
Shoppers can expect “the most wonderful small, local & independent designers, makers, bakers, creators, curators and producers” overlooking the sea on the Killacourt and lining Bank Street.
There will also be market day specials from resident businesses and the regular Craft Market at the WI hall.
Live Music on Bank Street
From around 11am, Arthur Panter will be performing feel-good classics live on Bank Street, followed by a soulful session from Joseph Hurworth at around 1pm.
Across the way on the Killacourt, Vinyl Imports will be spinning a laid-back vinyl set throughout the day, promising a coastal soundtrack full of funk and chill vibes.
Creative Workshops and Community Connection
Families can drop into a free (by donation) Easter decoration workshop with printmaker Clementine Neild. The session is run in collaboration with CIC partner Cornwall Nourish Hub and aims to spread “creative joy”.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust will also be at the event, described as “connecting our community”.
The team at Cornwall Shop Small said:
“Join us THIS Saturday the 5th of April from 10am – 4pm (and the first Saturday of every month) for a day full of creativity, community and local love in our beautiful home town for the BIG Newquay Market.”
