Early Morning RNLI Rescue: Stricken Yacht Towed to Safety Near Padstow
Volunteer crew launched before dawn
Padstow RNLI launched their all-weather lifeboat early yesterday morning, Saturday 10th May, following reports of a yacht with engine failure drifting just north of Stepper Point.
The volunteer crew launched at 5.49am and made their way to the stricken vessel, which was located around half a mile off the coast. With very little wind and an opposing tide, the yacht was unable to make headway on its own.

Yacht towed into harbour
The crew decided the safest option was to tow the yacht to the nearest harbour. A tow line was established, and the vessel was safely brought into Padstow Harbour without further incident.
The lifeboat returned to the Padstow RNLI station at 7.15am, wrapping up the early morning call-out.
