A Night of Nostalgia at The Seafood Restaurant

On Friday 28th February, The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow will host an unforgettable Supper-Club, marking 50 years since Rick Stein CBE and Jill Stein OBE opened the iconic establishment. Guests will be treated to a celebration like no other, with Rick himself stepping back into his DJ roots to spin dancefloor favourites alongside his son, Ed.

The evening, running from 7pm to midnight, offers a rare chance to revisit the restaurant’s beginnings as a nightclub. Rick and Jill purchased the property in 1974, originally running it as a club before turning it into the culinary landmark it is today.

A Feast Fit for a Golden Anniversary

The exclusive event includes a welcome glass of Champagne, canapés, and a sumptuous five-course seafood menu crafted by Rick and his son, Jack Stein. Signature dishes like hand-dived scallops, lobster risotto, and hot chocolate fondant will be served, accompanied by a celebratory cocktail. Guests can enhance their experience with wine pairings recommended by Charlie Stein, available for purchase on the night.

The Seafood Restaurant, which received the AA Food Service Award in 2024 for its outstanding hospitality, promises an evening filled with exceptional food and nostalgic entertainment.

Tickets and Accommodation

Tickets for the event are priced at £195 per person and will be allocated through a ballot system. The ballot is open now and closes on 10th February. Successful entrants will be notified by email on 11th February, with 48 hours to secure their booking. Enter the ballot here.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Rick shared his excitement for the milestone, saying, “It’s amazing that The Seafood Restaurant has been open for 50 years – we’re excited for lots of celebrations throughout 2025. Including me, returning to my roots as a DJ, back on the decks for one night only!”

Jill reflected on the journey, adding, “Little did Rick and I imagine when we opened our doors in 1975 that we would still be here 50 years later, celebrating half a century of the iconic Seafood Restaurant. We hope to welcome you to join us in celebrating our Golden Year.”
