RNLI Padstow Lifeboat Station works: summer exclusion zone in place

Published On: 7 July 2026Last Updated: 7 July 2026By

Planning to swim or paddleboard near Padstow this summer? There is now an exclusion zone around the lifeboat station, and you will want to know where it is before you get in the water.

Essential engineering work is underway at RNLI Padstow Lifeboat Station, running from July through to the end of August 2026. The work brings specialist marine contractors, landing craft and heavy equipment to the site through the busiest stretch of the season, and the RNLI has put an exclusion zone in place to keep the public clear.

Why the work is happening

Specialist marine contractors are carrying out repair and reinforcement work to the station’s supporting piles. The RNLI says the work is essential to keep the station safe and stable, and ready to respond for years to come.

The lifeboat itself remains fully operational throughout.

What to expect

Anyone in and around the station over the summer should be prepared for a few changes while the work is underway.

Landing craft and heavy equipment will be operating in the area. There will be intermittent noise and construction activity during working periods.

What you need to do

An exclusion zone is in place and marked by buoys and signage. The RNLI is asking people to stay clear of the area around the lifeboat station, including the slipway, the immediate beach area, and the water around the station.

Do not enter restricted areas or the exclusion zone. Do not swim, paddle or launch any craft nearby. And do not approach working vessels or equipment.

The RNLI has thanked people for their cooperation while the works are carried out.
